Acceptance & Change
My work is grounded in behavioral therapy, and a firm belief that people can change. I prefer a flexible and collaborative approach that evolves as we work together, balancing acceptance with change. Though the foundation of my work is behavioral, I develop integrated treatment plans for each new client, drawing on other evidence-based modalities and new research.
My clients tend to seek relief from patterns - sometimes chronic and severe, sometimes only subtly troublesome - of painful emotions, negative self-talk and thoughts, rumination, relationship instability and self sabotaging behaviors. Many of my clients tend to have had very painful formative or recent experiences of invalidation that have been difficult or confusing.
I am passionate about using evidence-based therapy and inspired by witnessing the transformation and growth possible through both behavioral and psychodynamic modalities. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and utilize a DBT framework in most of my sessions.
